The approved Dream$avers savings
tracts are:

Down Payment, closing costs
or repairs required by a lender

Small
Business start up or expansion
-
Post
secondary education
-
Improvements,
repairs or modifications necessary to make or keep a primary
dwelling habitable, accessible or visitable.

The purchase
of equipment, technology or specialized training required to
become competitive in obtaining employment.

Who can participate?
Anyone who is 12 years and older
whose household income is at or below the
state median
income and
wants to save for one of the approved savings tracts.
Participants must have the capacity to save monthly, attend a
financial education class and complete asset specific training
requirements.
What if I don't live in Douglas
County?
The IDA (individual development
account) initiative is offered state wide through a
collaborative of agencies. The Dream$avers program serves
Douglas, Coos, Curry, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lake
counties. To contact a representative in your area, please
contact one of our partner agencies. If you live in any
other area of Oregon and would like to find a participating
agency, you can contact the
Neighborhood Partnership Fund
for agencies in your area.
The Dream$avers program is helped
by partnerships from several local referral partner agencies
including
Consumer Credit Counseling,
the Housing
Authority of Douglas County,
Umpqua
Community Action Network,
Umpqua
Training and Employment,
Small
Business Development Center, Coquille Indian Housing
Authority and the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua
& Siuslaw Indians.
Dream$avers has
already helped open 10 small business, put 7 people through
college and helped 19 people purchase homes. You could be a part
